Galaxy Z Fold 5 camera upgrades
Just like with the its smaller clamshell-like sibling, the Galaxy Z Fold 5's camera improvements come thanks to the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. With this new piece of silicon Samsung has managed to muster up a bit more detail from its cameras (both in photo and video), especially when it comes to low light conditions.
Additionally, the AI-powered image signal processing (ISP) algorithm corrects any visual noise that typically spoils low-light images while enhancing details and color tone. The 10x digital zoom also delivers a clearer image, so the lack of a dedicated periscope camera could end up being a bit easier to digest.
There's even more AI pazzazz added in thanks to the One UI 6.1 update that came with the Galaxy S24 series, including a "Generative Photo Editing" and "Photo Editing Suggestion" features. You can learn more about the in our Galaxy AI article.Another small tweak Samsung has made is to move the color tone adjustment directly on top of the display while you are shooting, so you can adjust the white balance without having to go through the camera settings.

Okay, the Galaxy Z Fold series from Samsung has never been about offering the best cameras on a phone, and the Z Fold 5 is not about to change that. That said, the whole idea with this book-like foldable is versatility. You get a set of 5 cameras in total, which you can use in numerous ways, especially when you consider there is a cover display and the ability to fold the phone in specific angles. All in all, not much has changed, but the job the Z Fold 5's camera system is meant to do is still pretty much covered.
